Help choose a new name for the blog!

Dear Readers,

For the past 3 years it has been my pleasure to bring you the Montreal Moment blog. Some big changes are coming up. For starters, I have decided (for reasons outside of my control) to change the name of the blog. I am also looking at several ways to further develop the blog to be the best it can be.

I'd like to get your opinion on new name possibilities and how best to improve the blog going forward. Would you be willing to give me your input? I have set up a short, 4-question survey on SurveyMonkey. All answers are anonymous and will remain private.

Thanks in advance for your help! I am looking forward to hearing what you have to say.

Brunch at Le Vieux Vélo in Montreal

Le Vieux Vélo is located next to Café Odessa on a stretch of Beaubien East where hipness is creeping into a traditional neighborhood. It's an interesting mix of old and new, where old-fashioned businesses blend in with trendier shops.

Popular brunch spot Le Vieux Vélo is clearly in the latter category, but it manages to balance out its stylishness with simple, delicious food. Don't let the lineup put you off. Turnover is high, and this place is worth a little wait.

Maison Saint-Gabriel Museum in Montreal

Maison Saint-Gabriel is well away from the tourist fray of the Old Port, but the history of the two are closely entwined thanks to Marguerite Bourgeoys. She was instrumental in the establishment of both the Notre-Dame-de-Bonsecours chapel in Old Montreal and a farm next to what is now called Maison Saint-Gabriel.

Today visitors can visit the Maison Saint-Gabriel to learn about this important piece of Montreal's history, as well as to enjoy the buildings and grounds. An outing to this great facility is well worth the effort.
